Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the flexSO platform (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization such as a school, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Description of the Service

The Service provides Science Olympiad coaches, students, and parents with functionality for event administration, team management, scheduling, gradebooks, waivers, and related administrative activities. The Service may include integrations with third-party services, including Google Workspace, for data entry and communication.

3. Account Registration and Security

• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You must notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.
• Accounts may be created using email/password, passkeys (WebAuthn), or Google Sign-In.
• Access within a school requires approval by the school owner or head coach.

4. Acceptable Use

You shall not misuse the Service or engage in any of the following prohibited activities:

• Using the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
• Attempting to gain unauthorized access to any account, system, or network.
• Uploading or transmitting malicious code or harmful content.
• Scraping, harvesting, or collecting data without authorization.
• Impersonating another person or misrepresenting your affiliation.
• Interfering with or disrupting the platform's integrity or performance.

5. Google Integration

Connection to Google services is optional. By connecting a Google account, you authorize flexSO to access only the information described in our Privacy Policy. You may revoke the connection at any time through your Profile page.

flexSO's use of data received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

6. User Data

You retain ownership of the data and content you submit to the Service, including scores, rosters, and documents. We process such data solely to operate the Service on your behalf. The collection, use, and protection of personal information are described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual Property

The flexSO platform, including its design, code, and original content, is owned by flexSO and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership of the platform to you.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in conduct harmful to other users or the platform. You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting your school administrator or emailing [email protected].

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure operation. Science Olympiad eligibility and compliance decisions are the sole responsibility of the school and coaching staff.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, flexSO shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may amend these Terms from time to time. Notice of material amendments will be provided by updating the revision date displayed above. Continued use of the Service after such amendments take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
